Our mothers are phenomenal. Well, there may be exceptions, but if your mother is anything like mine, then she's an outstanding individual. I didn't really see this until after high school, but now days I see it clearer than ever. My mother was always there when I grew up. She took care of me, even when I was annoying and bratty. She struggled to purchase me the nicer things, even though she couldn't afford them for herself; she cleaned up after me, cooked for me, and even nurtured me when I got food poisoning at the age of 17. This is why mothers are amazing. They never stop taking care of their babies. You know your mother is something special when you look down to see her scrubbing your vomit out of the carpet, even when you're practically grown-up. This is why I feel it's imperative to never forget our mothers. Especially when it's birthday time. Have you picked out a birthday present for mom this year?
I love to go all out when it comes to selecting a birthday present for mom. If anyone deserves something wonderful, it's her. Think of how many years she took care of you and tried her best to raise you right. It's pay-back time. Once we grow into adults, we no longer need our mothers to care for us. The role actually gets reversed. There may even come a time when she can't care for herself. This is when you step in with a helping hand. You now take on the care-giver role. Your mother lives with you and you do the providing. At least this is how it was/is for me. Now, when it comes to my mother's birthday, gifts can be a bit tricky. But, I know have a process for purchasing a birthday present for mom. I watch the daily things she does and enjoys. What does she spend her time doing and what makes her happy. This is easy with my mother. She loves to read and she loves coffee. This year it was a synch deciding on a birthday present for mom. I bought her a Starbuck's gift card. Now she can hit up the coffee shop and enjoy her lattes without having to fork out her retirement cash. As many of us know, this is never as much as we'd like it to be.
What about your mother? You probably already know all her interests and past-times. What brings her pleasure? Is it a morning latte, or a membership to the local museum? Pay attention and you'll certainly come up with a great birthday present for mom.
