hotel job opportunities 04 by Publication Critique

When I got a job working in a hotel, I was more than a little bit skeptical. Basically, I saw it as an entry level job. It was the only thing I could get at that time. At least, I reasoned, it was better than working retail! It took me a while to realize it, but hotel job opportunities are what you make of them. I didn't know it at the time, but the hotel job opportunity turned out to be the opportunity of a lifetime!

It certainly did not look that way, however, when I first started. Most of the people working at hotel job opportunities are there because they can't get anything else. A lot of them are illegal immigrants, or at least recently arrived immigrants who can't speak English very well. None of them want to be working for rich tourists, but all of them slog through the day obediently, hoping for something better to come along.

I tried to make something better of my hotels job opportunity. Sure, it was only an entry level opportunity, but it really did give me some benefits that I wouldn't have gotten otherwise. First of all, hotel job opportunities are a great way to meet wealthy, well-connected business people. Some of these people are just on vacation, and do not want to talk to the help. Others, however, are much more open-minded.

Hotel job opportunities if you know how to network right can be a gold mine. My experience was tremendously positive. Soon, because of my networking skills, I was working a part time job for a distributor. Not only was it much more lucrative, but it offered a great opportunity for quick advancement if I worked hard. If I hadn't taken the hotel job opportunities in the first place, I never would have ended up in this human resource job.

Of course, even a part-time job working in a hotel can be a nightmare if you are not an extrovert. Hotel job opportunities in themselves have very little to recommend them. The work is usually difficult and tedious, many of the tourists don't even want to look at you, much less tip you, and the pay is poor. Nonetheless, you do have the opportunity to talk to people who are on their vacations. They are likely to be more relaxed, which means that they will be friendly and easy-going. If you can make the connections, the job is definitely worth it!
