I went out to find an Easter basket for my daughter, and decided that I really wanted to get her something that did not include a lot of candy. I am not one of those parents who forbids any type of sweet candy, but I do put limits on it. There is no need for her to gorge herself on candy for any reason, but a treat now and then is always wonderful for anyone. I do believe that children get too much, so I searched for gift baskets for kids that were not full of candy. I went home empty handed.
There were many of them where I looked, they were just not what I wanted. Many of the gift baskets for kids I found were full of toys, but much of it was junk. It was all cheap stuff that would hold her imagination for about five minutes before it was thrown down for something else. If it did last longer than five minutes in her hands, I know it would have been broken rather easily. There gift baskets for kids ranged in price, but even the high end ones were full of stuff that was not up to par.
I guess I shouldn?t be surprised. I see these gift baskets for kids every year around Easter and none of them hold much value. I don?t think many kids enjoy these for too long, unless they don?t have any other toys to speak of. In that case, I am sure they are fine, but those kids are probably disappointed when everything breaks quickly and they really can?t use half of what is in there. I don?t know who puts these gift baskets for kids together, but I don?t think they know much about kids from the looks of the stuff that has been placed in there.
I decide to go ahead an make one for her on my own. That is what I prefer to do with any gift basket, but this year I was pressed for time and hoping for a quick purchase. No such luck. Instead, my husband went out and got a few things, and we will have to go back out to finish up her gift baskets for kids by getting a few more things, and a bigger basket. She tends to prefer simple things that she can use to play outside, and these are always a hit and always used. I see he snuck in a Sponge Bob lamp, and I?m sure she will be overjoyed with that.
