house decorating 03 by Publication Critique

Lately my wife and I have been stoked about fixing up our home. We, like any home owner, would like to add certain features, appliances and aesthetic enhancements. This not only makes your home more pleasant to live in each day, but it also dramatically increases the value. Believe me when I say this. If you don't, then I suggest you contact a professional and ask him/her about enhancing your home. You will get the money back that you put in. This is why it's worth it to me. You get to have your cake and eat it too. With fun house decorating you can live in the home you desire and not worry about resale value. Of course this does depend on how extreme you are. Now, if you're going to go WAY out there with some eccentric patterns, designs and colors, it may affect reselling the home. You have to work and build within reason. What would you like to add to your homestead?

The most recent nuance I've been considering concerns our floors. We have standard builder's carpet throughout most of our home. As you may already know, this is not that high quality of carpet. You know how those builders like to cut costs; especially these days. Therefore we have been pondering hardwood floors throughout our entire ground level. Now, right off the bat we knew this would cost some serious dough. Any time you look into house decorating plans such as this, you'd better be prepared for some high prices. As opposed to turning straight to a builder, we researched the material costs first. After a little recon work on the web, we found that the materials themselves would cost us 2 grand. Okay, fair enough. That sounded reasonable for an entire floor. Next we contacted a professional. Because when it comes to house decorating of this caliber, you certainly want it done right. We had a gentleman come out to examine and measure our floors just the other day. After a quick once-over, he informed us that the hardwood floors would cost 12 thousand dollars. WOW, so that's about 10 grand in labor they're charging. Uh, NO THANKS!

Any time you decide on house decorating or home construction of some sort, you should do a little investigating. I think you'll find that it's dramatically cheaper to do the labor yourself. If you can, I would save your hard-earned cash. Sure, house decorating is fun, but it's not supposed to leave you in debt.
